Parents Wellbeing Programs

Sunshine Harvester Program

The Sunshine Harvester Primary School Homework Club began in August 2013 and provides homework support for approximately 70 students from the school.

The club runs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after school and is supported by adult tutors from the community as well as peer tutors from secondary colleges, including Braybrook Secondary College, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, Loyola College, Mt St Joseph’s Girls College, and Overnewton College.

The Homework Club is a vibrant, challenging and fun environment where students are given opportunities to complete set homework and workbooks, hear stories read aloud, occasionally sing together, play maths games, compete for prizes, go on local excursions to the library, play soccer with their tutors and attend special events, such as the trip to MSAC just before Christmas 2014.

Parents Wellbeing Program

Parents Wellbeing programs are project based programs, that support the wellbeing of parents through mutual learning and social connection. These programs are particularly created with parents of students who attend Homework Clubs in mind, and hence are community based initiatives.

Debney Meadows Parents

Our Debney Meadows (Flemington) program currently runs a mothers group, titled ‘Sew and Grow’, where mothers congregate to learn practical sewing and business skills and form community connections. They also often participate in and organise special events and excursions. Associated with this program, there are chances to be involved in digital literacy classes with North Melbourne Language and Learning. Please contact Freyja on fdixon@edmundrice.orgwith any questions about these programs.
